The Bride:
Jenn grew up in Boston and has considered herself an ardent City Person since the age of fourteen. She spent much of her youth hanging out by the fountain in Copley, wandering around the Fens, and generally being up to no good.
These days, Jenn is a grad student at Penn, working on a mix of learning theory, computational economics, and algorithms. To translate for the layman, this basically means she spends a lot of time sitting in coffee shops, filling up notebooks with math. She plans to complete her PhD soon, but whether her thesis will be turned in before or after the wedding is anyone's guess.
Jenn enjoys cooking, long walks, sushi, and German beer. She dislikes shopping for clothes, answering the phone, and the idea of having a "real" job.
The Groom:
Jeff grew up in Fairport, New York. As a kid he learned to swim, ski, and play chess, activities he still enjoys.
Currently a graduate student in Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania, Jeff studies the theory of computer security and programming languages. The field uses meta-math and meta-logic to talk about normal math and logic; Jeff finds this both exciting and philosophically disquieting. Concretely, Jeff writes papers about long, fraction-looking things called inference rules.
In his alleged spare time, Jeff likes to read, and is currently a fan of Haruki Murakami and Vladimir Nabokov. His favorite cookie is chocolate chip. Jeff enjoys snapping photos, and is excited to be playing with a new camera this winter.
Jeff lives in Center City Philadelphia with his fiancee, Jenn, and their two cats. He expects to be married this May.
